Four PrecisionFit® Phases

1

The focus of the Inception phase is Detailed Scoping of the project. Key activities include Project Definition and Discovery. eVerge Group consultants seek to gain insight into the client's existing business, organization structure, technology issues, and gain agreement on project goals and approach, including new business processes, system functionality, technical architecture and integrations to other systems. Consultants acclimate stakeholders to key features and capabilities of the standard software. The project team gains agreement on schedule and risks, and establish metrics for value achievement and project success. The initial Environment is established in preparation for the next phase.

Inception Deliverables:

  • Project Charter
  • Project Plan
  • Success Metrics
  • System Architecture Design
  • Technical training for client developers

2

The focus of the Elaboration phase is Mitigating Risks. Key activities include Requirements and Fit Analysis, Design, and Iterative Prototypes. eVerge Group consultants seek to gain detailed understanding of requirements, validate the architecture, and explore and define the solution, including applications, integrations, and data. In Fit Analysis, requirements are compared to standard software, resulting in a relative "fit" for each requirement. Resolutions for any requirements with low relative fit are rigorously evaluated against best practices, business goals and lowest ongoing total cost of ownership. eVerge Group Consultants begin Design, which includes configuration, development, data and interfaces. Early Prototype Iterations are configured/developed and presented for feedback to ensure the Solution is on target. These prototypes allow for early user involvement via formal review sessions. Feedback is gathered and reflected in subsequent prototypes and review sessions.

Elaboration Deliverables:

  • Requirements document
  • Fit Analysis
  • Solution Design and Configuration documents
  • Initial Iterative Prototypes and Reviews

3

The focus of the Construction phase is Building Business Value. Key activities include Development, and Testing and Training Planning. eVerge Group consultants seek to gain a final understanding of requirements, continue to validate the architecture, and refine the Solution, including application configuration, development, integrations, and data. Sometimes Prototype Iterations are developed and presented for feedback to ensure the Solution is on target. Preparation for the final phase begins, including establishing the Testing and Training Environments, developing Initial Test Scripts and Training Materials. Development of the Final Solution, which demonstrates all requirements have been achieved, marks the end of this phase.

Construction Deliverables:

  • Final Solution Design and Configuration documents
  • Iterative Prototypes and Reviews
  • Test Scripts
  • Training Materials

4

The focus of the Transition phase is Deployment to the Users. Key activities include Testing, Training, Deployment Planning and Deployment. eVerge Group consultants seek to verify readiness of the Solution, including processes, systems, and users, through system integration testing, user acceptance testing, user training sessions, and deployment planning. Solution acceptance by the client verifies final readiness. The Production Environment is established and the Solution is deployed to users, sometimes incrementally. User support and system monitoring/tuning begin. Project wrap up activities commence, and value achievement and project success are measured.

Transition Deliverables:

  • User Acceptance Testing
  • End User Training
  • Deployment Planning
  • Post-Production Support
  • Final Success Metrics

“Going through eVerge Group's PrecisionFit® Process was very eye-opening. It forced us to take a critical look at why we did things the way we did.”
