Job Description:

As a qualified candidate for our Senior PeopleSoft Financials Project Manager position, you will have a functional PeopleSoft background and will have managed multiple public sector implementations of PeopleSoft Financials.

You will be responsible for managing implementations of software systems conversions, integrations, and/or upgrades to client specifications. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Establishing project approach and setting standards for reporting and deliverables
  • Delivering engaging, informative, well-organized presentations to executive-level personnel
  • Managing the day-to-day operational aspects of project and scope including budget, schedule, risks, milestones, and deliverables
  • Generating an implementation plan including resource requirements, assignment breakdown, and task lists
  • Implementing and administering project controls including status reports, change control, and issue resolution processes
  • Overseeing the team of resources that may include both consultants and client personnel

Estimated 75% - 100% travel (typically 4 days a week at the client site and 1 day at home). Location is negotiable, as long as you have access to a major airport; however Dallas or a major Texas city is a plus.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years overall implementation and upgrade PeopleSoft experience with focus on the Financials application (version 9.0 or higher)
  • Extensive functional knowledge and multiple hands-on implementation experience with PeopleSoft Financials
  • 2+ years Project Management experience within PeopleSoft, including responsibility for budget and personnel
  • Public Sector experience required
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to gain consensus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and facilitation skills
  • Bachelors Degree highly preferred
  • PMP Certification highly preferred, but not required
  • Consulting Skills - Proven ability to:
    • Plan and execute projects within budget and timeframe parameters
    • Balance, set, and manage client expectations and priorities
    • Understand client's business and systems requirements and offer suggestions for improving such processes
    • Successfully handle project changes, issues, and risks
    • Effectively communicate orally and in writing, in both individual and team settings
    • Approach tasks in an organized and structured manner, and impart this knowledge to the client and to consultants
    • Build and maintain a positive rapport with the client and other personnel through team building and leadership skills
    • Represent company to clients and prospects in business presentations and individual interviews
  • Implementation/Technical Skills - Has demonstrated skills and an in-depth understanding in all of the following areas:
    • Use of reporting tools (nVision, Crystal, Query, SQR, etc.)
    • Conversion processes, tools and interfaces
    • Formal and informal training
    • Planning and executing complex test systems
    • System security
    • Client-server technology
    • Project management software tools (Microsoft Project, Project Workbench, etc.)
